Peter Baxandall and Hans Liebeck, Vector Calculus, Dover 1986
Prerequisites
Linear Algebra (Math 2700) and Multivariable Calculus (Math 2730).
Course Objectives
Much of the content of this course overlaps what you learned in
multivariable calculus. A first course in multivariable calculus
typically does not require the
prior study of linear algebra. Much of what we learn in multivariable
calculus is better understood by making a stronger connection to linear
algebra. Also, a first course in multivariable calculus is normally
restricted to two and three dimensions. In Math 3740, we will also do what
we can in higher dimensions.
